This Christmas, I performed Tomas Luis de Victoria's "Missa O Magnum Mysterium" within its proper context: a Roman Catholic Christmas Mass At Midnight. This is the "Sanctus" from the Mass, performed by the Choir of Mount Calvary Anglican Use Catholic Church, directed by Dr. Daniel Page. I can be heard singing as one of two alto choristers in this live recording during the Preface of the Mass.
As a final project for a graduate-level musicology course entitled "Hildegard of Bingen in Context" taught by Dr. Elizabeth Archibald (Peabody Conservatory faculty), my colleagues and I prepared a performance of a substantial excerpt from the "Ordo Virtutum" morality play/opera by the 12th-century saint, Hildegard of Bingen. Below you see images from that performance, which took place in the George Peabody Library of the Johns Hopkins University. I accompanied our performance on the hurdy-gurdy, which is also pictured below.
