The George Peabody Library.
Kathleen Schmidt began her formal training in writing at the Denver School of the Arts, earning a double diploma in Creative Writing and Vocal Music. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History at the Colorado College, submitting a poetic work of creative historical fiction for her final thesis/essay for the History Department. To research her historical fiction piece, she was awarded a grant from the Sheffer Memorial Fund for Catholic Studies, and also received grants from the Colorado College History Department to complete the project. Most recently, Ms. Schmidt worked as the local author coordinator for the Tattered Cover Book Store in Denver, managing a vendor database of over 500 authors from the Rocky Mountain region, and assisting authors with their projects. Ms. Schmidt has worked as a writing tutor assisting undergraduate students in Humanities at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. She also worked in the George Peabody Library of the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland as assistant to the curator, providing service to patrons of the library.
In November 2014, Ms. Schmidt published an editorial in the Denver Post.
